“Golden Amphora” Awards Ceremony took place in our Congress Centre yesterday. Mr. Milos Davidov, Director and CEO of YU Travel, and Dr. Slobodan Drobnjakovic, General Manager of BG Sport Centre Kovilovo, greeted the guests.

November 16, 2009 – First Women  Football Minimaxi Cup Serbia

On November 13, 2009 the First Women Minimaxi Cup Serbia BG Sport Centre Kovilovo 2009 took place in our Centre. Mr. Milan Sotra, President of Company, opened the Cup with the kick-off. Mr. Sotra also wished the participating teams good results and comradeship.
Mr. Vladan Skoric, representing the Committee for Basic Football, addressed the teams and expressed his hope that this Cup should become an International Cup. Aleksandar Dzakula, the DFA (Children Football Association) Coordinator of Minimaxi League Women Football said that this CUP was the beginning of the Women Mimimaxi League Serbia project for the girls from 11 to 14 years and that FSS (Football Federation of Serbia) would help this league to start in other Serbian cities as well.
6 teams participated in this Cup: Pancevo, Kikinda, Novi Becej, Masinc Nis, Lavice Leskovac and Jerina Smederevo.

Masinac from Nis won the Cup, the second place went of Novi Becej team, and the third to Lavice from Leskovac. Tijana Krstic for Masinac Team was the best player and the best scorer; Livija Simon from Novi Becej was the best goal keeper. Ivan Jankovic, Director of Basic Football and Information Systems of FSS presented the awards to the winners of the second and third teams. Mr. Sotra, President of BG Sport Centre Kovilovo, congratulated the winners and presented the awards to the best team and the best player as well as the BG Sport Centre Kovilovo transient Cup.

November 12, 2009 – LAV CUP Serbia Quarterfinal Draw in Kovilovo

Milos Krasic and Milan Jovanovic, National Selection of Serbia players, took part in LAV CUP Serbia Quarterfinal draw in Kovilovo. National Football Selection of Serbia is preparing in BG Sport Centre Kovilovo for friendly matches against South Korea and North Ireland. After the Draw, the National Selection visited the rebuild TV Tower on Avala.
Quarterfinal matches will take place on November 25, 2009 starting at 13.oo hrs: Borac (Cacak) - OFK Beograd, Vojvodina - Smederevo, Crvena zvezda - Spartak and Jagodina - Partizan.

October 20, 2009 – Road Show - Presentation Truck

“Continental tires” presentation, organized by Coning d.o.o. company, representatives for Serbia, took place in our centre on October 19 and 20. The main presentation was organized in the Congress Hall of Hotel President, but participants had an opportunity to visit the Continental truck, specially designed for presentation of tires, positioned at the parking lot of Hotel President.
The truck, with an adjoining tent, consists of reception desk, tables and chairs and of a showroom with screen and projector for presentations.
Detailed presentations are available at user friendly touch screen monitors fixed inside of tires and on touch screen calculators that enable the visitors to compare the prices with other producers. Map of the world with all the Continental locations is placed on the wall.
All the participants enjoyed in presentation itself, as well as in benefits and facilities offered by BG Sport Centre Kovilovo and Hotel President.

October 19, 2009 – NBS and Deutsche Bundesbank - third time in Kovilovo

Traditional international sport meeting between National Bank of Serbia and German central bank - Deutsche Bundesbank was organized in volleyball, basketball and football. The multifunctional sports hall of BG Sport Centre Kovilovo has been chosen for the third time in a row for this competition. German teams were better in volleyball, but NBS won in football and basketball. The fans of both selections cheered all the time while enjoying the competition.

October 11, 2009 –From Kovilovo to South Africa

Following the training time in BG Sport Centre Kovilovo the National Football Selection of Serbia qualified to the South Africa World Cup 2010, after the game against Romania, where Serbia triumphed with 5:0 score, thus achieving the 1st place in group 7.Throught the stay in Hotel President, the national coach, as well as the players were positive that Serbian selection would win:“
Big games need brain and the outcome may be decided by the smallest details. And we worked on both things. During the qualifications we grew together and now it is time to make use of our work in the most positive way” – Mr. Antic stressed at the Press Conference that took place in Kovilovo.
Nikola Zigic, the center forward of Serbian National Selection, stuck the first goal in 37th minute.
“For me, it is all about the winning’ – said Pantelic. “ We know what is at stake and I am aware that Romanians would like to ruin our celebration, but we must focus on ourselves.”
Marko Pantelic vindicated his statement by scoring the second goal for Serbian team in 50thminute. Zdravko Kuzmanovic in 78th minute and Milan Jovanovic in 87the and 5th minute of the overtime, scored for Serbia as well.
The positive energy that was achieved in Hotel President and BG Sport Centre Kovilovo was evident at the faces of the young talents – boys generation 1998 – that were competing for the EUROCUP 2009, celebrating the World Cup 2010 qualifications. Young football players of FC Napredak from Krusevac, FC Panter from Pozarevac and FC Sabac, on the day of the qualifying Serbia-Romania match on October 10, 2009 had theopportunity to meet the members of the A selection of  the National Football Team of Serbia and their coach Mr. Radomir Antic.

Mr. Milan Sotra, BG Sport Centre Kovilovo President of the company, awarded the cups to the best team FC Sabac as well as to the best player, goal keeper and the best scorer.

September 29, 2009. – Hunters League, Sports Day and Conference – all at the same time

On Sunday, September 27, more then one thousand people gathered together, amongst them the participants of the Hunters League, “Schneider Electric” Sports Day and “Lyoness Day” Workshop. The participants and visitors enjoyed in beautiful autumn weather and in benefits and facilities offered by BG Sport Centre Kovilovo and Hotel President that enabled various events to take place at the same time.

Hunters took advantage of the opportunity to use all six shooting ranges, as well as the special sporting compact range. After the competition the “Hunters stew” was served to them.
For “Schneider Electric” employees there was a variety of sport events to choose from – football, basketball, tennis, volleyball and table tennis. Winner’s cups were awarded to the best competitors, but all of the employees enjoyed in lunch and barbeque organized at the picnic area.
“Lyoness Day” workshop took place at the Congress Hall, with superb audio-visual equipment and the buffet style lunch was arranged at the Crystal Hall of Hotel President.

September 26, 2009 – Serbia – Indonesia Friendship Day NUSANTARA 2009

The Association of Serbian-Indonesian Friendship Nusantara organized a day of friendship between the two peoples in the BG Sport Centre Kovilovo.
Cultural and sport officials, businessmen, politicians, diplomatic core and citizens of both countries enjoyed the day. The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, H.E. Muhamad Abduh Dalimunti with Mrs. Dalimmunti took part in this friendship day, as well as the diplomatic core and other employees of the Embassy of Indonesia in Belgrade and the members of the Nusantara Association from both countries.
Sport competitions in various events were organized – football, volleyball, tennis, badminton, table tennis and chess. Everyone enjoyed in pleasant ambient and excellent conditions and benefits of our BG Sport Centre Kovilovo.

September 21, 2009 – Regional Sport Days Intesa Sanpaolo 2009

Intesa Sanpolo Group and Banca Intesa Belgrade organized the Regional sport competition in football, volleyball and basketball for their employees on September 19 and 20 at our sport courts. The member banks from Albania, Ukraine, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Italy, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia took part in competitions. More then 400 employees enjoyed in games and friendship, while trying to win and using all the benefits of the BG Sport Centre Kovilovo. The best teams and individuals received the winner cups, two cups were awarded for fair play. The individuals that contributed the most for excellent organization of this event were thanked and their efforts appreciated. For our centre, the award was received by Mrs. Svetlana Stankovic-Vujcic, Director of Sales and Marketing. Mrs. Stankovic-Vujcic thanked the organizers and the teams for their competition and invited the Intesa SanPaolo group to come to BG Sport Centre Kovilovo for their next year’s Sport Days.

September 20, 2009 – Nemanja Smiljanic - the youngest Senior Champion of Serbia in Trap

Nemanja Smiljanic (15 years) won the title of Senior Champion of Serbia in clay target shooting – Trap at the Shooting Range BG Sport Centre Kovilovo, with 132 targets (114 + 18 in finals).
Smiljanic, the 21st junior in the world, is the son of Olivera Smiljanic, a renown Yugoslavian shooter, and Nemanja Djapo, ex  SCG coach of clay target shooting and shooter.  This year’s competition in National Championship of Serbia included the best shooters of Serbia, those who made at least 100 targets (for seniors) and 85 targets (for juniors) during one of the previously organized Serbian Cups. Smiljanic was one of the trainees of the Shooting School of the Clay Target Shooting Federation of Serbia, initiated by Mr. Milan Sotra, the President of the Federation.

September 17, 2009 – Bulgaria Arrives Tomorrow in Kovilovo

Senior Women National Selection of Bulgaria will arrive in Kovilovo on September 18 evening . The National Selection of Serbia arrived in Kovilovo on Moday and the National Selections of Bulgaria and Serbia will play two friendly matches on Saturday and Sunday. Both matches will be closed for public. The XXVI European Championship will take place from September 25 to October 04, 2009 in Poland.

September 14, 2009 – Coca Cola Sports Day, Sunday September 13, 2009

Coca-Cola HBC Company organized the sport day for the employees for the second year in a row in BG Sport Centre Kovilovo, using all the capacities and facilities of our complex. More then 1700 employees and members of their families enjoyed in conform, ambient and facilities of our Centre. There were multiple choices for everyone: sport competitions, fun games, strolling and enjoying in a pleasant September weather…
For the youngest population, there was an interesting program, organized by the Next juices for Coca-cola family – with workshops, music and various children’s attractions. Medals were awarded to the best participants.

September 13, 2009 – PERTINI DAYS in Kovilovo

The traditional event PERTINI DAYS 2009 took place last week in our Congress Centre.The eminent experts, managers, pedagogues, mentors, and representatives from city and republic positions took part in this event, with a mutual goal – to achieve a safe and sound surroundings for children upbringing in nurseries with modern programs, accessories and presentations.
PERTINI program was exhibited – toys, kids furniture, garden furniture, sport equipment for kids and other accessories and games.
Professor doctor Radivoje Mitrovic, State Secretary for Education and Mrs. Ljiljana Jovcic, Belgrade Secretary for children’s Welfare took active part in this event. Children attending the public nurseries submitted their best works – paintings and sculptures for the PERTINI DAYS 2009 award.

September 07, 2009 – The Major of Belgrade calls on Serbian Football Team

Mr. Dragan Djilas, the Major of Belgrade, visited the National Football Selection of Serbia in BG Sport Centre Kovilovo, during their preparations for the match against France.
Mr. Djilas addressed the National Selection of Serbia quoting his opinion that this generation of sportsmen is the real and the best representative of Serbia, with their games and success. He also asked the players to help respect the national anthem of France and to present ourselves as fine hosts.
Mr. Antic, the Head Coach of our National Selection thanked the Major and the City of Belgrade for the visit and for the support of football sport, stressing the responsibility of the team for the game that would take place on “Marakana”  on September 09, 2009.

National Senior Football Selection of Serbia gathered in our Sport Centre on September 01, 2009 to prepare for one the most important matches for this Serbian football generation – game against France on September 09, 2009, qualifier game for the World Cup 2010.

Aug 27, 2009 - Serbian and Italian selections in Kovilovo - Friendly Matches

In BG Sport Centre Kovilovo Sports Hall two friendly matches took place between Serbia and Italy Volleyball National Women selections, during preparations  for European Championship 2009 taking place in Poland. Italy won the first game 1: 3 ((18:25, 20:25, 16:25, 25:19). In the second match the result was even 2: 2 (25:22, 27:25, 19:25, 23:25). Two more games are also scheduled to take place, while both selections are finishing this part of training.

August 17, 2009 - Nemanja Smiljanic  -  21st Place on Junior World Championship

Nemanja Smiljanic, the shooter from Serbia, student of the School for Shooters which started in 2006 on our Shooting Range, won the excellent 21st place at  Shotgun World Championships in Maribor, Slovenia ( August 06 to 17, 2009), in trap junior competition with 114 targets ( serial  21, 24, 22, 24, 23). Two months ago, at the European Championship in Osijek, Smiljanic won a solid 45th place with 99 targets.

The President of the Clay Target Shooting Federation of Serbia, Mr. Milan Sotra, commented with enthusiasm on Smiljanic’s success: “ Nemanja showed exceptional improvement and the decision to send him first to Osijek and then to Maribor proved to be the right one. Osijek competition really helped him to achieve such a good result in Maribor and showed that he is one of the great talents of the shooting sport. We must not forget that the competition is much stronger at the World Championship and that 67 shooters participated in this event.”

August 13, 2009 – Divac and Paspalj with National Basketball Team

On return from Italy, the National Basketball Selection spent 10 days in BG Sport Centre Kovilovo while preparing for European Championship that will take place in Poland.
The atmosphere was very good, and Mr. Ivkovic, the Head Coach, affirmed that the gold medals won in Rome in water polo and swimming would be additional stimulus for our basketball team. Serbian renowned basketball players, now the officials of the Olympic Committee of Serbia, Mr. Vlade Divac and Mr. Zarko Paspalj were present at yesterday’s team practice.
“I am pleased that the atmosphere and quality of your practice is good. This will lead to a good result. Give yourself in, and, God willing, we will all celebrate at the end. Be ware of injuries. I do hope that Duda is not pushing you too hard, as he used to do in our time “ – said Divac, smiling.
The top quality conditions and pleasant environment of Hotel President and of our sport centre contributed to this good atmosphere and comradeship.
It was hard for Mr. Ivkovic, the national coach, to make the selection between the players: “Each player’s work is fine and they all work hard”.
There was no possibility for all 18 players to continue on the tour, so the following 14 players will be travelling to Germany: Stefan Markovic, Miloš Teodosic, Milenko Tepic, Nemanja Bjelica, Ivan Paunic, Bojan Popovic, Dušan Kecman, Uroš Tripkovic, Milan Macvan, Novica Velickovic, Zoran Erceg, Kosta Perovic, Nenad Krstic and Miroslav Raduljica.
Serbian national team will proceed from Germany to Athens to stage a control match against Greece on August 18th and to enter the Acroplis Cup after that.

July 31, 2009 - Volleyball National Team of Serbia in Kovilovo

Women Volleyball National Team of Serbia will start the preparations for XXVI EC 2009 on Monday, August 03, 2009. The European Championship will take place from September 25 to October 04, 2009 in Poland. Mr. Zoran Terzic, the Head Coach of Senior Team of Serbia invited 20 players.
Selector Terzic could not count during this summer on injured players Jovana Brakocevic, Brizitka Molnar and Sanja Malagurski, but still hopes that they will show at Kovilovo Meeting on Monday.

June 15, 2009 - BELhospice 2009 – Humanitarian Tournament

On Saturday, June 13, 2009, BELhopsice organized the Humanitarian Football Tournament at BG Sport Centre Kovilovo football courts. The tournament was supported by the Serbian Ministry of Health. 16 domestic and foreign companies, that recognized the huge need for palliative care in Serbia, took part. June 07, 2009 – Safari Day at the Sporting Compact Shooting Range

Cooperation between Clay Target Shooting Federation of Serbia / BG Sport Centre Kovilovo and Safari Club – Balkan Chapter, started in May 2009 at Ada, for the Assembly of Safari Club. It was then agreed that the next gathering of Safari Club would be organized in our Centre.
Members of the Safari Club – Balkan Chapter – spent the whole day yesterday in BG Sport Centre Kovilovo. Welcome drink was served outside, next to the shooting range. The hosts, Mrs. Snjezana Vajagic, Secretary General of the Clay Target Shooting Federation and Mrs. Svetlana Stankovic-Vujcic, Director of Sales of BG Sport Centre Kovilovo and Mr. Milan Sotra, President of BG Sport Centre Kovilovo and Shooting Federation greeted the members of the Club.  The sightseeing tour and shooting competition was organized for all the participants.
The day ended with a barbeque lunch at the green area and with assurance to meet again.

June 03, 2009 – Radomir Antic – new NIKE Ambassador

Radomir Antic, the head coach of National Football Selection of Serbia and Goran S. Karic, general manager of Delta Sport Company, exclusive NIKE distributor, signed the contract in Hotel President in BG Sport Centre Kovilovo. Thus, Mr. Antic became the new NIKE Ambassador, joining the other great NIKE stars - Drogba, Ibrahimovic, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ronaldino, Fabregas ….
Members of the Football Association of Serbia, Resad Kunovac, Rade Zalad and Aleksandar Rogic were admitted into the NIKE Ambassador Club as well.

June 01, 2009 - Both Selections of Serbia in ESC Youth League Finals

ESC Youth League for the Eastern Region took place from May 29 to 31, 2009 at the BG Sport Centre Kovilovo. Both selection of Serbia (air rifle and pistol), after two days of competition,  made a success by  booking the place in ESC Youth League Finals that will take place in Copenhagen in October 2009.
In pistol competition, Russian Team won and Serbia was the second, with Croatia in the third place. Mixed boys/girls Serbian team, aged from 14 to 18, competed and they will participate at the Youth Olympics in Singapore in 2010.

In rifle competition, that was exciting and dramatic till the very end, Serbia won the first place, in front of Russia and Croatia.
Mr. Nenad Petkovic, the Secretary General of the Serbian Shooting Sport Federation presented the special certificates to the teams that will be taking place in the finals and wished them a successful competition. Mr. Milan Sotra, the President of the Clay Target Shooting Federation of Serbia and Mr. Anatoli Aktov , the Sport Director of European Shooting Confederation for the Easter Region were present as well.

May 22, 2009 - FC Sevojno in Kovilovo

Football team Sevojno prepared at the football fields in BG Sport Centre Kovilovo for the LAV Cup Finales, from May 19 to May 21, 2009. Silver medal was awarded to Sevojno team who fought with dignity in the final game against FC Partizan, the winner of both the national championships and LAV Cup.

May 05, 2009 – National Women Basketball Selection of Serbia preparing for the
European Championship

Department of Sport Medicine tested the National Women Basketball Selection of Serbia preparing in Hotel President. The tests included standard medical control as well as the functional potentials of our basketball players. European Championship is taking place in Latvia from June 07 to June 20, 2009 and our team will spend antoher week, from May 21 to May 27, in our Centre.

April 26, 2009 - Milan Sotra – 11th Place at the Europe Cup

Experienced shooter from Partizan, the President of the Clay Target Shooting Federation of Serbia, Mr. Milan Sotra, was the best positioned competitor from Serbia. He won the 11th place with 95 targets at the Europe Cup – “GP Perazzi”- in trap event that took place on a windyday at the Shooting Range of BG Sport Centre Kovilovo.

The ESC entrusted the organization of this prestigious competition to the Clay Target Shooting Federation of Serbia and 49 shooters from 7 countries  in men and women competition participated.

April 08, 2009 – NALED Workshop

One day workshop for the media was organized in Hotel PRESIDENT’S Congress Centre on the issue of simplifying of economic procedures. A big number on media editors, journalists and representatives of institutions and donators were present (Ministry of Economy and Regional Development, USAID, Serbian Business Registers Agency, Tax Administration).
Mr. Goran jovic, Mayor of Stara Pazova, and member of NALED (The National Alliance for Local Economic Development) greeted the participants.

March 15, 2009 - National Handball Selection of Serbia

National Handball Selection of Serbia gathered together on Sunday, March 15, 2009, for the first time after the success achieved at the World Championship that took place in January 2009. It was the unanimous decision both by the players and the officials to use once again the facilities of Hotel President and BG Sport Centre Kovilovo for the upcoming important qualifier games for the 2010 European Championship.

February 23, 2009 - Conference “Role of Municipalities of Serbia in Development of Economy Sector” Gathered More then 90 Participants

Palilula Municipality of Belgrade and Businessmen Club of Palilula were the organizers of the regional Conference “Role of Municipalities of Serbia in Development of Economy Sector”, that took place on February 19 in Hotel President’s Congress Centre in BG Sport Centre Kovilovo. More then 90 businessmen and representatives of local municipalities from all over of Serbia were present.
It was agreed at the Conference that the offices for local economy development should be constituted and that the representatives of those offices start to meet once a year to exchange the ideas and achievements.

February 17, 2009 – Milan Sotra Reelected President of the Clay Target Shooting Federation
of Serbia

Clay Target Shooting Federation of Serbia Election Assembly took place in Hotel President’s Congress Centre in BG Sport Centre Kovilovo. Milan Sotra was reelected President and will remain in this function during the Olympic circle till London 2012, as the delegates of this Assembly voted unanimously for Mr. Sotra.
“We will try to improve the already good relations with the international shooting sport federations, and also to get involved with FITASC (International Federation for Hunting Shooting), but the most important challenge in this tenure will be the organization of European Championships and World Championship in 2011 at our facilities in BG Sport Centre Kovilovo” – emphasized Milan Sotra during his welcome speech given at the Assembly attended by distinguished guests and friends of the shooting sport.
Milos Bugarin was elected as Deputy President, and the Members of the Presidency of the Federation are: Dragan Jevtić, Vera Ačanski, Bogdan Mamuzić, Živorad Damjanović, Slobodan Drobnjaković, Milan Obućina, Mirjana Čolović, Vladan Petrović, Vladan Živadinović, Petar Seferović, Saša Kresojević i Svetlana Stanković - Vujčić.
Snježana Vajagić was elected as Secretary General, Nedeljko Vajagić as Sport Director, Dejan Mihajlović as the National team Selector and Nebojša Đapo as the National Team Head Coach. Supervision Council consists of Rade Pavlović (President), Duško Ilić and Đorđe Vasiljević.
After the Assembly, the Members of the Presidency and other Federation members that took part in the last four year tenure were awarded diplomas for their devotion and achievements.

December 27, 2009 – 1st Futsal Mega Cup BG SC “KOVILOVO 2008”

Children Football Association of Serbia, Association of Clubs of First Futsal League of Serbia and BG sport Centre Kovilovo took jointly organized the First Futsal Mega Cup BG SC “KOVILOVO 2008” for the players born in 1997.
The Champion, Belgrade team, with enforcement from PFK Homolje, Zagubica and Banat, Zrenjanin were the finalists. Champion Belgrade won the Trophy of Futsal Mega Cup BG SC “Kovilovo2008”, the final score being 1:0. BSK Borca team won the 3rd place, in front of Nais from Nis.
Milan Sotra, President of BG Sport Centre Kovilovo awarded the trophy to the winning team.
Turkulovic Kristijan (Champion) and Radosavljevic Marko (Banat) were chosen as the best tournament players. Turkulovic Kristijan and Lazovic Marko (BSK) were the best scorers and Radovic Nemanja (Banat) and Pankulic Darko (Champion) were the best goal keepers.
